The WL4 ISO-B-3-AMAL vulcanizing (self-fusing) tape is based on PIB (Polyisobutylene) rubber. The tape is widely used for sealing cable connections in both indoor and outdoor installations. Correct application of the tape ensures total waterproofing for fresh and sea water in a wide temperature range. The roll of tape is lined with a disposable plastic liner, which must be removed before applying the tape.<\/p>\n
Correct application of the tape: the tape has no adhesive, the sealing of the joint is the result of the self-joining process of successive layers of tape. The surfaces for applying tape must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, oil and other contaminants. The application method is to wrap the tape (without plastic lining) around the object, stretching it to the point that the width is reduced to about 2\/3 and overlapping 50%. It guarantees good adhesion of the tape to the protected object and between the layers. The tension of the tape during wrapping is very important because it guarantees good adhesion. Depending on the temperature of the environment, the layers are fused together within a few hours, but not with the substrate. The complete self-melting process takes approximately 24 hours at room temperature (20\u00b0C).<\/p>\n
